Roger Waters brands Ed Sheeran a ‘Little Prick’ over Macklemore Tour axing

Roger Waters has launched a scathing attack on Ed Sheeran, branding the British singer a "little prick" after rapper Macklemore was dropped from Sheeran's US Loop Tour for voicing support for Palestinians in Gaza.

The former Pink Floyd frontman made the remarks in an Instagram video on Tuesday night, according to Rolling Stone. Over a clip of his cover of "We Shall Overcome" and the words "Ed Who?", Waters praised Macklemore for "doing the right thing" and condemned Sheeran for the opposite.

"There's two kinds of people in this world," Waters said. "There's people who do the right thing, that rapper Macklemore would be one of those people, and there's people, many of them sadly little… pricks like you who do the wrong thing. Goodbye."

Macklemore was removed from the tour after venues threatened cancellations over his performances, during which he shouted "free Palestine" and displayed images of destruction in Gaza. New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft reportedly pressed stadium owners to bar the rapper.

Macklemore has since pledged to donate his $1 million in net tour earnings to six organisations supporting Palestinians, inviting Kraft to match the sum. Kraft's representative declined to comment.

Supporting acts Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe and Beoga have withdrawn in solidarity. Sheeran insisted he had no role in the decision, saying it rested with promoters and venues, and that he preferred to remain neutral.
