Rihanna’s Beverly Hills estate shot at
A 30-year-old woman has been taken into police custody following a shooting at the Beverly Hills residence of global superstar Rihanna on Sunday afternoon. The singer and entrepreneur was reportedly inside the property when the incident occurred at approximately 13:15.
According to law enforcement sources, the suspect opened fire from a white Tesla parked directly opposite the estate's main gates. At least one round reportedly penetrated a wall of the home, while further bullet holes were discovered in the perimeter gate and a motorhome parked outside the premises.
Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Sgt Jonathan de Vera confirmed to Variety that no injuries were sustained during the attack. The suspect, whose identity and motive remain undisclosed, fled the scene immediately after the discharge of the weapon.
Following a brief pursuit, police helicopters located the vehicle travelling south on Coldwater Canyon Drive. The suspect was eventually apprehended at a shopping centre in Sherman Oaks, just 30 minutes after the initial emergency call was placed.
A subsequent search of the vehicle by LAPD officers uncovered an assault rifle alongside seven spent casings.
Rihanna shares the Beverly Hills property with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their three children: RZA, Riot, and five-month-old Rocki.
While officials confirmed the 'Umbrella' singer was at home during the shooting, it is currently unclear which other family members were present.
The investigation is ongoing as detectives work to establish a motive for the targeted attack. Representatives for Rihanna have not yet issued a formal statement regarding the incident.
