Metallica eye Las Vegas Sphere Residency after 2026 tour

Metallica have addressed growing speculation about a potential residency at the Las Vegas Sphere. Speaking to Howard Stern on 6 August, drummer Lars Ulrich confirmed the band are seriously considering a future run at the cutting-edge venue—but nothing is confirmed yet.
"There's nothing to confirm," Ulrich said. "But I'm not going to deny it… all of our managers and production people have been there and looked at it." He added, "I would love to do it."
The Sphere, which opened in 2023, has hosted major residencies from U2, Phish, and Dead & Company. Ulrich revealed he was at the venue's debut with U2, calling the experience "the beginning of another chapter in live performances."
If confirmed, Metallica's Sphere shows would follow the conclusion of their M72 World Tour, set to end in July 2026 after dates across Europe, Australia, and the Middle East.
