Heeseung leaves K-pop group ENHYPEN to pursue solo career
K-pop artist Heeseung has officially departed from the boy band ENHYPEN to pursue a solo career, the group's agency Belift Lab announced on Tuesday.
The decision follows extensive discussions between the management and the members regarding their differing musical directions. Despite leaving the septet, the 24-year-old will remain signed to the agency and is currently preparing for his debut solo album. ENHYPEN will now move forward and continue its promotional activities as a six-member act featuring Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki.
Addressing the departure through a handwritten letter on the fan platform Weverse, Heeseung expressed gratitude for the past six years with his bandmates and supporters. He assured fans of his swift return to the music industry and his continued support for the group.
The singer originally debuted with ENHYPEN in November 2020 after securing a spot through the survival reality television programme I-LAND.
