Family mourns death of Tommy Lee Jones’ daughter Victoria
The family of actor Tommy Lee Jones has spoken publicly following the death of his daughter, Victoria Jones, who was found unresponsive at a San Francisco hotel on New Year's Day. She was 34.
In a brief statement shared with People magazine on 2 January, the family expressed gratitude for the messages of support they have received while requesting privacy. They said they appreciated "all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers" and asked that their space be respected during what they described as a deeply difficult period.
Victoria Jones was discovered unresponsive early on 1 January at the Fairmont San Francisco Hotel and was later pronounced dead. She was the daughter of the Men in Black star and his former wife, Kimberlea Cloughley. The couple also share a son, Austin Jones, aged 43.
According to dispatch audio obtained by People, the emergency call was categorised as a "code 3" overdose with "colour change", a term commonly associated with cyanosis, which indicates low oxygen levels in the blood. Authorities have said there is currently no suspicion of foul play, and the official cause of death has yet to be determined.
Victoria had a brief acting career, appearing alongside her father in Men in Black II (2002), The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2005), and an episode of One Tree Hill in 2003. Court records indicate she had been arrested on multiple occasions in the past year, including for drug possession.
The Fairmont San Francisco issued a statement offering condolences and confirmed it is cooperating fully with police during the ongoing investigation.
