Drama series inspired by student protests in the works

A new drama series titled 'Gen Z: Tumi Ke Ami Ke' is being produced, capturing the spirit of the recent student-led revolution that ended 15 years of authoritarian rule in the country.

Written by Mezbah Uddin Sumon and directed by Abu Hayat Mahmud, the series is set to start filming on September 10 in Dhaka.

Director Mahmud stated, "The storyline is finalised, and we are currently casting. Priority is given to actors who were active in the movement, like Arsh Khan and Salman Muqtadir."

Sumon described the series as a "satirical comedy," focusing on a family's struggle against authoritarianism, reflecting broader political issues. The drama will air simultaneously on television and YouTube, produced by Creative Lab Production House.
