‘Daagi’ cleared for release with ‘U’ rating

The highly anticipated film 'Daagi' has officially received its censor certificate, securing its place in the Eid release lineup. Starring popular Bangladeshi actor Afran Nisho in his second film role, 'Daagi' has been granted a "U" (Universal) rating, allowing audiences of all ages to watch it.
Director Shihab Shaheen described the film as a powerful story of redemption, exploring love, separation, and the lasting impact of incarceration.
"The film features a prison setting—once someone bears the mark of incarceration, they carry it for life. This brings the theme of forgiveness into focus, which is not only vital in our lives but also a key aspect of religion and humanity. That is why we say, 'Daagi' is a story of redemption," shared the director.
Shot in Saidpur, Rajshahi, and Dhaka, 'Daagi' features a star-studded cast, including Tama Mirza, Sunerah Binte Kamal, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Gazi Rakayet, Mili Bashar, and Rashed Mamun Apu. The story, screenplay, and dialogues have been written by director Shihab Shaheen himself.
