Acclaimed actress Azmeri Haque Badhon has stepped away from Lamia Chowdhury's debut directorial venture, 'Meyeder Golpo'. The female-centric project, deeply tied to Lamia's late parents, was initially set to mark Badhan's debut as a producer.

Badhan, who joined as an executive producer, was tasked with coordinating investors for the film. However, despite initial enthusiasm, the investors pulled out, leading Badhan to exit the project. "The story and script are outstanding," Badhan said. "I hope Lamia finds new investors to complete this important work."

Badhan emphasised her commitment to championing women-centric stories. "When I wanted to become a producer, I sought projects that highlight women's narratives. Although this didn't work out, my best wishes are with Lamia," she shared, adding that her connection with the director extends beyond professionalism.

Acknowledging the challenges of promoting women-focused narratives in society, Badhan said, "Stories like these are essential, but they don't easily reach the masses. Often, those who bring such narratives forward face criticism."
Despite the setback, Badhan remains steadfast in prioritising women-centric projects across all creative roles. "As an actor, director, producer, or writer, I will continue to highlight these stories. It's a challenging goal, but one I deeply believe in."
