High-level dialogue on Rohingya crisis to be held in Cox’s Bazar
Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus will attend the dialogue as the chief guest on 25 August

The Office of the High Representative for the Rohingya Issue and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are set to co-host a three-day 'Stakeholders' Dialogue' on the Rohingya crisis in Cox's Bazar, starting Sunday (24 August).
The event, titled 'Stakeholders' Dialogue: Takeaway to the High-Level Conference on the Rohingya Situation,' will be held from 24 to 26 August, according to a press release issued by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing today (21 August).
Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus will attend the dialogue as the chief guest this Monday (25 August).
The dialogue is designed as a preparatory session for a major high-level conference on the Rohingya crisis scheduled to take place on 30 September in New York, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
The event will bring together experts from home and abroad, diplomats, representatives from the Rohingya community, international organisations, and academicians.
Participants will discuss various aspects of the crisis, including funding gaps for the refugees in the camps, recent developments in Rakhine, and the challenges of dignified repatriation.
According to the release, the voices of Rohingya men, women, and youth will feature prominently, providing an opportunity for the international community to hear their perspectives and aspirations directly.
The dialogue is structured into five thematic sessions covering humanitarian assistance, confidence-building for repatriation, accountability for atrocities, and ways to achieve a sustainable, time-bound, and actionable long-term solution.
As part of the event, participants are scheduled to visit the Rohingya camps on 26 August. The dialogue aims to generate concrete recommendations from the participants that will serve as key takeaways for the high-level conference in New York.
