Beaver moon 2025: when and how to see it in Bangladesh
Observers in Bangladesh can view the moon on the evenings of 4 and 5 November
The full moon in November, commonly referred to as the Beaver Moon, is set to reach its peak at 6:19 pm Bangladesh time on 5 November, 2025, according to NASA.
This event is classified as a supermoon, the second of 2025 following the Harvest Supermoon in October, says NDTV.
As a supermoon, the lunar orb will appear larger and brighter than usual due to its closer proximity to Earth, at approximately 221,816 miles (356,980 kilometres) away. Observers in Bangladesh can view the moon on the evenings of 4 and 5 November.
On 4 November, the moon will rise at approximately 5:30 pm, and on 5 November, it will rise at around 5:31 pm, appearing in the eastern sky just after sunset. Binoculars or telescopes are recommended for a clearer view.
The Beaver Moon will appear alongside several celestial features, including the Pleiades and Hyades star clusters, the constellation Orion, and the planet Jupiter.
NASA explained that the name "Beaver Moon" originates from traditions in both Native American and European cultures. November historically marked the period when beavers prepared for winter by reinforcing their dams and storing food. It was also a time when beavers were trapped for their winter pelts, used to make warmer clothing.
In certain Native American traditions, the November full moon is also known by names such as the Frost Moon, Freezing Moon, Trading Moon, and Snow Moon, though the latter is more commonly associated with the February full moon.
