At least 10 people were injured in a clash between two factions of the BNP in Baraigram upazila of Natore yesterday (19 November).

Seven of the injured have been admitted to Natore Sadar Hospital for treatment.

According to police and locals, the conflict began in the morning in Naoapara village over a land measurement dispute between supporters of BNP leader Dulal and Joari Union BNP General Secretary Julhas.

The situation escalated in the evening when Dulal's supporter Shuvo was allegedly beaten by Julhas' men at the local Ahmedpur Bazaar. In retaliation, both groups engaged in a violent clash, leaving 10 injured and a local BNP office vandalised.

Sirajul Islam, officer-in-charge of Baraigram Police Station, said police and army members were deployed to bring the situation under control.
