Three people, including a female teacher of a school, died with coronavirus symptoms at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) early Thursday.

The deceased are Jannatul Ferdous, 40, teacher of Khulna Zila School, Harun Sheikh, 55, hailing from Bagmara area of Khulna city, and Babu, 45, from Rayermohol area of Khulna.

Dr Mizanur Rahman, resident medical officer and spokesperson of the corona ward at the hospital, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.

He said Jannatul Ferdous was admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital with fever and respiratory problems at around 11:00 pm on Wednesday. She breathed her last there at around 1:00 am. She was a resident of Boira Palpara area of the city.

Harun sheikh was admitted to the hospital with fever, cough and respiratory problems at around 4:30 pm on Wednesday. He died around 1:15 am on Thursday, said Dr Mizanur.

Babu was also admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital with fever and respiratory problems at around 8:15 pm on Tuesday.  Later, he was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) as his condition deteriorated. Babu breathed his last there at around 4:00 am on Thursday.

Their samples had been collected for coronavirus test, Dr Mizanur added.
