A case has been filed against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, along with 205 others, in connection with killing a Chittagong University student during the recent student-led protests. 

The case, which includes former ministers, members of parliament, businessmen, police officers, and journalists, was filed at Chandgaon Police Station on Friday (20 September), Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aftab Uddin confirmed the matter.

The case was filed by Azizul Haq, a friend of the deceased, Hriday Chandra Tarua. Tarua, a third-year history department student at Chittagong University, was shot during the movement in Bahaddarhat, Chandgaon, on 16 July. He succumbed to his injuries on 23 July while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Among the accused in the case are former Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, and Sheikh Hasina's younger sister Sheikh Rehana. Other notable figures named include Jatiya Party Presidium Member Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Tarikat Federation President Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari, and former Member of Parliament Abu Reza Muhammad Nezamuddin Nadvi.

Several prominent business figures have also been named, including Kazi Akram Uddin, Chairman of the Awami League's Sub-Committee on Industry and Commerce, former President of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce Mahbubul Alam, and businessman Dilip Kumar Agarwal. Former Khagrachari MP Kujendra Lal Tripura is also listed as one of the accused.

The case also implicates several high-ranking police officials, including former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Chittagong Range Nure Alam Meena, former Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Saiful Islam, and former Superintendent of Police SM Shafiullah. Additionally, former officers-in-charge (OCs) of Panchlaish and Kotwali police stations, Abul Kashem Bhuiyan and Mohammad Mohsin, have been accused.

Prominent media personnel are also included in the case, with former general secretary of the Chittagong Press Club Shuklal Dash, Chittagong bureau chief of Somoy TV Kamal Dey, current general secretary of the Chittagong Press Club Devdulal Bhowmik, and former resident editor of Ekushey TV Rafiukul Bahar listed among the accused.

The case accuses a total of 206 individuals, along with an additional 500 unidentified people.
