The committee tasked with preparing the "White Paper on the State of Bangladesh Economy" has invited public recommendations.

In a press statement issued today (5 September), the committee outlined several channels for submitting suggestions, including an email address, a Facebook page, and a LinkedIn profile.

Interested individuals can share their views by emailing whitepaperbd2024@gmail.com, visiting the Facebook page www.facebook.com/whitepaperbd2024, or contributing via LinkedIn at www.linkedin.com/company/whitepaperbd2024.

Also, a suggestion box will be placed at the committee's office, located on the ground floor of Block-4 in the Ministry of Planning, for written submissions.

"The committee believes that with public cooperation, it will be possible to publish a comprehensive white paper," says the statement.

The committee has called for input on various issues, including the accuracy and reliability of government statistics, macroeconomic challenges, GDP growth trends, inflation and its effects, poverty, inequality, resource mobilisation, public spending priorities, the balance of foreign exchange, banking sector health, the status of mega-projects, and the energy and power sectors.

Other areas of focus include the business environment, private investment, money laundering, labour market conditions, youth employment, and the rights of migrant workers.

The interim government formed the committee for the "White Paper on the State of Bangladesh Economy," chaired by Debapriya Bhattacharya, on 29 August.

The committee includes 11 prominent experts as members and has already begun its work.
