India will assist Bangladesh with data on flood warning, forecast: High commissioner
The two sides agreed to reduce border killings to minimum or zero by enhancing border security.
India will assist Bangladesh with necessary information regarding flood warning and forecasting, Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma said today (2 September).
During a meeting with Home Affairs Advisor Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury at the Bangladesh Secretariat, he also discussed various issues of mutual interest between the two countries, including information sharing in the areas of police force, border security and safety of Indian citizens.
The home affairs adviser said as part of the ongoing reforms in Bangladesh, the police and other forces under the Ministry of Home Affairs will be reformed but it is still in the early stages.

In the meeting, the two sides agreed to reduce border killings to minimum or zero by enhancing border security.
Pranay Verma sought the adviser's assistance regarding the security of Indian students and other nationals residing in Bangladesh. The adviser fully assured him in this regard and said there is no threat to the security of Indian citizens in Bangladesh.
The high Commissioner also said visas for Bangladeshi citizens have been introduced at Indian visa centres on a small scale, but mainly for students going for study and for urgent medical needs.
