The Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Jubo Dal has announced nationwide protests on 21 August, demanding justice for enforced disappearances, murders, and other atrocities in the last 15 years of Awami League government.

In a press release issued this afternoon (20 August), Jubo Dal Office Secretary MN Islam Sohel shared the details of the planned protests.

Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam stated in the press release that over the past 15 years, thousands of their leaders and activists have been victims of enforced disappearances, killings, and injuries.

They specifically mentioned the violence on 28 October 2006, the brutal crackdown on hundreds of Islamic scholars and madrasa students at Shapla Chattar in May 2013, and the recent killings and injuries of over a thousand children, students, and youth during the student-led uprising.

The leaders further stated that the protests will demand justice against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her "monstrous forces", whom they hold responsible for these crimes.
