The BNP has issued a show cause to its adviser, Ruhul Quddus Talukdar Dulu, following his recent controversial statement threatening "to burn down television and print media if images and speeches of Sheikh Hasina are published".

According to party sources, Dulu has been given 24 hours to respond to the notice with a written explanation as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against him.

In a notice issued signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, stated that Dulu's statement, which was published in various national newspapers, including Prothom Alo, The Daily Star, Ittefaq, Bangladesh Pratidin, bdnews24, Dhaka Post, Jagonews24 and Bangla Tribune, threatened to "burn down television and print media if images and speeches of Sheikh Hasina are published".
