Govt raises tax-free limit to Tk3 lakh

The government has raised the threshold of tax-free income to Tk3 lakh from Tk2.5 lakh after five years.
Moreover, individual taxpayers, from the lower income brackets, have got a 5 percent tax slab, down from existing 10 percent which has been the lowest rate for more than two decades.
The slab for the highest income group has been curtailed to 25 percent from 30 percent.
