The results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams will be published in a videoconference on Sunday.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni will hand over a copy of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 10am for announcement. Later, the minister will publish the results in detail in a video conference at 11am.

The results will be sent to the students' mobile numbers and will also be available on the education ministry's website.

The ministry planned to publish the results on May 7, but could not because of the Covid-19 outbreak.

For the first time in the last eight years, the ministry failed to publish the results within 60 days of completion of public exams, officials said.

Last year, results were published on May 6.

This year, the SSC and equivalent exams began on February 3, with the theoretical and practical tests ending on February 27 and March 6 respectively.

Around 2,050,000 students took part in the exams in over 3,500 centres from around 29,000 educational institutions across the country.

Almost 80 percent of the candidates took the exams under nine general education boards. Over 13 percent sat Dakhil exams under the madrasah education board, and around seven percent took vocational exams under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
