Ctg port gets donation of masks, PPEs

Top terminal operator Saif Powertec Ltd has donated masks, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and other protective equipment to Chattogram port.

Saif Powertec's Managing Director Tarafdar Md Ruhul Amin presented the equipment to Chattogram Port Authority Chairman Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad at a ceremony on Wednesday.

The protection material includes 500 three-layer surgical masks, 200 rubber gloves, 25 reusable and washable PPEs, 25 medical protective eye-wear goggles and five infrared thermometers.

Tarafdar Md Ruhul Amin said, "If Chattogram port lags behind, it will have a negative impact on the country's economy."

"We have donated Tk 2 crore to the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund, and relief material has been provided to about 2,000 workers," he added.
