The Bait Ur Rouf Mosque in Dhaka, Bangladesh, designed by Marina Tabassum, features traditional brickwork techniques and aims to establish a unique architectural language inspired by the rich heritage of mosque architecture in Bengal from the Sultanate period. Screams, dust clouds grasp air after earthquake devastates parts of Turkey, Syria

Cyclone Sitrang made landfall on the coasts of Bangladesh on Monday. The storm, lasting for hours, left a trail of devastation in its wake in the country's coastal areas – mainly Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhalokathi, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barishal, Laxmipur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar. As per reports from all across the country – total eight people have died from the cyclonic storm while several others have been injured. Left abandoned for years, the fate of MV New Golam Rahman was to wither away with time. As it was not under the supervision of any authority, miscreants cut and stole a large part of the ship. On 21 June, 2020, one side of the ship, carrying 900 tonnes of pulses, bursted open in the midst of strong waves in the sea. Later the ship was quickly diverted to the Patenga sea beach area. At the objection from the Department of Environment the ship owner could not cut the ship and eventually chose to abandon the ship, raising concerns of environmentalists.
