The High Court (HC) will continue the hearing on the bail petition of Ayesha Siddiqua Minni, wife of slain Barguna youth Rifat Sharif, on Tuesday.

The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman reached the decision after hearing the petition on Monday.

Minni’s advocate ZI Khan Panna appealed for bail on her behalf.

She has been denied bail twice before.

Amid controversy and suspicion of her involvement in the murder of her husband, Minni was produced before court where she confessed her involvement in the murder, according to police sources.

On July 22, Minni’s appeal for withdrawing the confessional statement was turned down by court.

Minni's husband Rifat, 22, was hacked to death by criminals in front of her in broad daylight in Barguna on June 26.

The incident was caught on surveillance camera.
