On Sunday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' UNCLOS conference room, the Foreign Ministry organised an Inter-Ministerial meeting, "Branding Bangladesh Abroad," to monitor, prepare, and plan for meeting possible challenges Bangladesh may face in the context of graduating from being a Least Developed Country (LDCs).

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister, Salman F Rahman, and other Foreign Ministry officials, were present at the meeting, read a press release.

During the meeting, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen outlined various aspects of economic diplomacy and outlined the specific goals of the ministry, such as increasing foreign direct investment and creating diversification, increasing exports and diversification, providing quality services, exporting human resources and skills, technology transfer, and more.

The committee discussed creating a roadmap based on regional and niche market priories. It also discussed showcasing Bangladesh's economic viability, success under the Covid-19 constraints, augmented financial abilities to perform in international markets, success stories of the brave people of Bangladesh, tourism, self-sufficiency in food production, and more, as possible branding avenues.

It also decided to set up a common branding platform where all government and non-government organisations can find complementary support systems for branding Bangladesh abroad in their respective fields.

Officers from various government agencies, including the Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Commerce, the ICT Division, Economic Relations Division, the Bangladesh Tourism Board, BEZA, BEPZA, BIDA, the Public-Private Partnership Authority, BISCIC, representatives from DCCI, BGMEA, FBCCI, and others, also attended the event.
