At least 25 militants have been confirmed killed as mop-up operations have been continuing in Afghanistan's eastern Wardak province, Interior Ministry spokesman Nasrat Rahimi said Monday.

The spokesman did not say if there were casualties on security personnel.

Taliban militants, who are operational in parts of Wardak province with Maidan Shar as its capital 35 km west of Kabul, have yet to make comment on the report.
