French legend Emmanuel Petit has claimed that Neymar Jr. has no respect for his current club Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and the player plays only for himself.

In an interview with RMC Sport, Petit compared Neymar with the great players he played and said that Neymar was no match for them.

Neymar reportedly tried to push through a deal which would have taken him back to Barcelona, from where he had arrived at PSG for a world-record fee of 222 million Euros. But the deal failed through and Neymar had to stay at PSG. His season has been since interrupted by injuries which had seen him sidelined till very recently when he made his comeback against Real Madrid in the Champions League. Even though PSG boss Thomas Tuchel has said that Neymar is now committed to PSG, Petit is not convinced at all and said that Neymar respects neither the club nor the supporters.

The former Barcelona and Arsenal man said, "Place yourself in the place of the boys in the dressing room of PSG, who deal with the whims of this man who dumps on the club and their fans for months; he has no respect."

He also added that Neymar plays only for himself and does not work hard defensively. Petit added that when he played, he did not care if he had to cover someone like Zidane because he knew Zidane would make up for it. But the case was not the same for Neymar. Petit said, "When I played with Zidane or Djorkaeff, I knew they were able to decide a game on their own, so we accepted their defensive neglect. We accepted it and did our job because we knew they could win with a flash of genius. This is not the case, at all, with Neymar."

Neymar reportedly was willing to pay 20 million Euros himself to get his move to Barcelona, but still, the two parties - PSG and Barcelona - could not reach any agreement.
