3 fraudsters arrested in Dhaka
The gang provided low quality products to customers showing attractive advertisements on facebook pages
The cyber and special unite of the detective branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested three members of a gang from different areas of the capital on Sunday.
Opening eight Facebook pages, the gang used to cheat people in the name of selling different products, said Mahidul Islam, additional deputy commissioner of DB.
Mahidul Islam said the gang used to give attractive advertisement of saree through their commercial FB pages. They collected picture of the product from the website of different companies. Seeing the advertisements, the customers placed orders on the page. But the gang provided low quality products to the customers.

"We have traced 12 victims who were cheated by the gang. One of the victims filed a case against them. Now we are trying to arrest the other gang members," he added.
The arrestees are Muhammad Odud Hossain, Khadija Akter Rupa and Tanim Al Imran.
DB sources said we found 10 other members of the gang. Among them, Nayam, Alim, and Pavel created the pages. Arrested Odud Hossain conducted the page and Rupa communicated with customers. They took payment of the product through mobile banking.
Mitu Bosak, the victim who filed the case, said in the case statement that she placed an order of a saree to Lolona Fashion. Seeing advertisement of a saree, I ordered and paid Tk2,050 through Bkash. I got the saree but I did not get the same one that I ordered for. They provided me a low quality one.
