Jannat Ara Jharna, the alleged second wife of former Hefazat-e-Islam Joint Secretary General Mamunul Haque, has been taken to the civil surgeon's office in Narayanganj for a medical test.

Earlier, Jharna had filed a case against Mamunul Haque at the Sonargaon police station in Narayanganj on the charge of rape with the promise of marriage.

She was taken to the civil surgeon's office on Friday morning, reports Somoy.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (detective branch) rescued Jannat Ara Jharna from a home in the city's Mohammadpur on Tuesday.

She was later handed over to her family following legal procedures.

On 11 April, Jharna's oldest son Abdur Rahman filed a general diary with Paltan Police Station to rescue his mother, missing since 3 April.

On 27 April, Jharna's father filed another general diary with Kalabagan Police Station in this connection.
