Heavy rainfall in Chattogram, landslides feared
The Meteorological office recorded 28.6 millimeters rainfall in Chattogram in last 24 hours till 6pm Sunday.
Chattogram district administration has started shifting people from the hills as landslides feared due to the heavy rains triggered by the weakened cyclone Bulbul.
The Meteorological office recorded 28.6 millimeters rainfall in Chattogram in last 24 hours till 6pm Sunday.
"It is likely to rain heavily due to cyclone Bulbul," Uzzal Kanti Pal, assistant forecast officer at Patenga Meteorological office, told The Business Standard.

The district administration has opened shelter centres for the residents living in the hilly areas. Those living at the foot of the mountains are requested to vacate their homes and take shelter at safe place.
Touhidur Rahman, assistant commissioner (land), said, "We have started bringing the inhabitants of the mountains to safety. We have ensured that adequate amounts of water and dry foods are reserved at the shelter centres."
Some 70 families have been evacuated so far, he added.
The authorities are making announcements on megaphone urging people to leave the risky hills.
