Banglalink launches new entertainment platform ‘Toffee’

Banglalink has launched a new digital entertainment platform "Toffee" to provide customers with the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of high-quality entertainment content. 

Sergi Herrero, group chief operating officer of VEON, the parent company of Banglalink, inaugurated this new platform on Wednesday.

The new entertainment platform is accessible through both an app and its website, which also offers the highest number of TV channels ever made available on a single digital platform in Bangladesh, according to a press release.

Currently, 60 local and international channels are available on the platform, and more channels will be made available in future. 

While some channels will be available for free, users will need a paid subscription for watching the premium channels. 

Along with popular TV channels, users can enjoy content of different categories, such as music video, dramas, movies. Users also have the opportunity to earn money by submitting their own content to the platform. 

The android version of Toffee is available at the Google Play store. 

Initially, all users will enjoy one month of free subscription. After the expiration of the trial period, users need to subscribe to watch the premium content. Subscription starts at Tk3 per day. 

Upanga Dutta, chief commercial officer of Banglalink, said, "Users can earn by submitting their videos on the platform, making this the first of its kind in the country. We are confident that it will receive good response from users. In the coming days, we will add more value to this platform to help customers experience a more exciting digital life."

Bengal Broadband Ltd is the TV broadcast partner of Banglalink in this initiative.

Among others, Taimur Rahman, acting CEO and chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs officer of Banglalink, Asfar Khair, chairman of Bengal Broadband Ltd, Iftekhar Zaman and CEO of Nexdecade Technology Pvt Ltd, were also present at the launching ceremony.
