Dr Ranjit Kumar Nandi informed the ACC about the matter and later, on the basis of the information, ACC caught auditor Mohammad Alamgir Hossain red handed while taking the bribe money on Thursday.

Preparations are underway to file a case against Alamgir. He will be handed over to the court, Nazmul Hasan added.

Dumuria upazila Accounts Officer Ashok Kumar Mallick said, "Suddenly 7/8 ACC men came to the office at noon and took Alamgir Hossain away. I heard that Alamgir Hossain demanded a bribe of tk15,000 from the retired Dr Ranjit Kumar Nandi when he wanted to withdraw money from his DG fund."
