A Cox's Bazar court on Monday accepted charge against an employee of Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (Blast) in a defamation case filed by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) over what it said a false accusation of gang rape.
Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farhah framed the charge against Farzana Akter under section 500 and 501, according to BGB's lawyer Md Sazzadul Karim.
The judge also fixed next 18 April for testimony in this connection. But until the date, she was granted to be on bail.

Earlier on 11 March, it was scheduled to form the charge but the date was deferred to 15 March, the lawyer added.
On 10 November last year, Nayeb Subedar Mohammad Ali Molla, in-charge of Damdamia check post of BGB Battalion-2 on Cox's Bazar-Teknaf highway, filed the defamation case of Tk100 crore.
The case was filed on allegation that Farzana Akter allegedly made a false claim of being gang-raped by some BGB personnel.
Farzana was searched by BGB members at the check-post of Teknaf BGB 2 Battalion on 8 October.
Later, she brought the allegation of gang-rape against the BGB members.
According to the case statement filed by BGB, the accused Farzana Akhtar severely tarnished the image of the BGB by springing up a false accusation of gang rape against its personnel.
