A few days following their marriage, cricketer Nasir Hossain and his wife Tamima Sultana have become embroiled in controversy.

Tamima's ex-husband Rakib Hasan filed a general diary at Uttara West Police Station alleging that Tamima married Nasir without divorcing her ex-husband.

Uttara West Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shah Md Akhtaruzzaman Elias confirmed to The Business Standard that he received the complaint.

Elias said, "A general diary has been filed in the name of Nasir's wife. In that diary, her ex-husband claimed that Tamima married Nasir without filing for a divorce."

He is thinking of filing a case in the family court, Elias said.

In the general diary, Rakib mentions his 11-year family life with Tamima and their eight-year-old daughter. He says the marriage bond was not severed and Tamima married Nasir without getting a divorce. Rakib attempted to contact Nasir to find out about the matter but could not reach him on the phone.
