President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Rubana Huq called to name forum leaders as winners in the upcoming BGMEA election again.

She called for the victory of 35 members of the forum panel in the upcoming elections in a function held at the Navy Convention Center in Chattogram on Tuesday night.

Competing panel forum organised a pitha festival and dinner in Chattogram centring on the election.

Forum Chattogram President KDS Group Chairman, Khalilur Rahman presided over the function. Leaders of various garment industry groups in Chattogram and Dhaka spoke on the occasion.

Rubana Haque said in her speech that such a time for the industry has passed that she did not know if the western markets will collapse or open. However, that is not considered. The big deal is how big the place of financial power of the organisation is.

"In 2020, exports decreased by 16.94 percent. In the months from September to December alone, the average price has fallen by 5 percent. In such a situation, it is not appropriate to slander the election, but constructive criticism must be taken," said Huq.

Regarding the forum's panel, Rubana Haque said, "We will finalise the panel within February 25."

"Each member of this forum is dynamic. Again, if you elect the forum by voting, I promise I will provide your service with devotion," she added.

Forum Panel Leader ABM Shamsuddin said BGMEA is an organisation for providing services. No member of the forum will use this organization for any personal purpose.

The current board has enlisted the help of stimulus and government policy. If he wins the next election, his continuity will go on.

Md Abdus Salam, general secretary of Cahttogram Forum and first vice president of BGMEA, along with others also spoke on the occasion.
