More than 2,000 Rohingya people have reached Bhasan Char in Noakhali on Monday, in the fourth phase of the relocation process.

Five vessels of Bangladesh Navy took them to the Island from Chattogram Boat Club, said Mohammad Shamsu Douza, the government's additional commissioner of refugee, relief and repatriation.

Earlier, they were taken to Chattogram from Ukhia Degree College premises of Cox's Bazar in phases.

Besides, another batch of Rohingya numbering 1,000, will leave Cox's Bazar today for Bhasan Char.

In the fourth phase, a total of 4,000 Rohingyas are being relocated to Bhasan Char in two phases on Sunday and Monday respectively.

Several thousands of Rohingya were relocated to Bhasan Char on 4 and 28 December and later on 28 and 29 January.
