UCB Stock Brokerage Ltd launches digital booth in Dubai

UCB Stock Brokerage Ltd launched the first ever "Digital Booth" outside Bangladesh in Dubai on February 12.

The digital booth will provide one stop service to investors for account opening, fund transfer to Bangladesh for investing in the capital market, taking orders for stock/bond trading and arranging repatriation of funds from Bangladesh.

The booth was inaugurated by Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, the Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC).

The Chairman of the Executive Committee of United Commercial Bank Limited, Anisuzzaman Chowdhury attended as the Special Guest. He expressed his immense joy on the opening of the first ever digital booth by a Bangladeshi brokerage firm outside Bangladesh during the Mujib year and the Golden Jubilee of our Independence.

He explained that UCB Stock Brokerage Ltd has been able to successfully transform itself into a reliable and efficient institution with its strong focus on research driven investment. In order to increase contribution towards the capital market, UCB Investment Limited and UCB Asset Management Limited has been formed and a Custodian License was also taken. UCB and its subsidiaries now have a combined investment of more than BDT 550 crore in the capital market of Bangladesh. Moreover, a new Mobile Financial Service company has also been introduced to realize the dream of Digital Bangladesh.

Dr Nahid Hossain, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Professor Md Jonaid Shafiq, Director of United Commercial Bank Limited, Shyamal Dutta, Editor of Daily Bhorer Kagoj, Mohammed Mohiuddin, Managing Director of Island Securities, Mohammed Mahtabur Rahman, Chaiman of Al Haramain Group & President of NRB Association, Mohammad Rahmat Pasha, CEO, UCB Stock Brokerage Limited gave speeches at the occasion. ressed his commitment to provide the best possible service through this digital booth.  

Various high officials of BSEC including commissioner Khondoker Kamaluzzaman was also present in the event. From United Commercial Bank Limited, Asifuzzaman Chowdhury, Director and Member of Executive Committee, Bashir Ahmed, Director and Member of Executive Committee, Shekh Mohammad Rashedul Hasan, CEO, UCB Asset Management Limited, Tanzim Alamgir, CEO, UCB Investment Limited were present along with other top officials of the bank. A number of senior dignitaries from various communities of Dubai was also present in the event.

The digital booth is located in Conrad Tower 19th Floor, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai. It was virtually inaugurated from Creek Ball Room, Park Hyatt, Dubai.
