Selected students to seat in cluster based university admission test
The admission seeking students have to go through a rigorous scrutiny before they sit in the intake test of the 19 public universities that decided to hold a uniform admission test under cluster system.
The authorities will carry out the screening upon completion of primary application process. Only the selected ones will be allowed to participate in the subsequent test.
Vice chancellors of the 19 universities took the decision in a meeting at Jagannath University on Thursday evening.

Dr Mizanur Rahman, vice chancellor of Jagannath University and also joint convener of the cluster based admission test scheme, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
However, the VCs were yet to take a concrete decision over the date of holding the admission test.
The examination will be held once the education ministry reopens the educational institutions, Dr Mizan said.
Initially, all the students will be allowed to complete the application process complying with the requirements set by the authorities. They will have to pay no charge at this stage.
Then the applicants have to go through a screening process. Only those who are screened successful in the process will be allowed for the second stage.
The students qualified for the intake test will be informed after the screening. Then, they will have to submit applications again. At this stage, they will be charged with Tk500.
DR Mizan also made it clear that the minus marking method will be applied in the examination.
In December, the vice-chancellors (VCs) of the 20 public universities have reached a consensus on how the varsities will hold a uniform admission test under the cluster system.
There will be three examinations for science, humanities and commerce students based on the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) syllabus, they decided.
All 19 universities will be used as venues for the admission tests.
The admission seekers who have passed HSC and its equivalent examinations this year and passed those in 2019 will be eligible for the admission test.
Three 100-mark examinations will be held. No additional test will be taken for the students intended to change tracks in graduation level.
