Awami League backed mayoral candidate Rezaul Karim Chowdhury reassured that he was 100 percent optimistic about the victory. 

He made the remark after casting his vote for the Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) election at Bahaddarhat Ekhlashur Rahman Government Primary School in Chattogram's East Sholoshohor Ward around 9am today.

"I am 100 percent optimistic about victory," he told reporters after casting his vote.

Candidate Rezaul Karim said that there is spontaneity among the voters, adding that voters have been standing in line since morning and voting peacefully.

Regarding the various allegations of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Rezaul said, "BNP has nothing but allegations. They are not on the ballot, they are not with the people. Their job is just to complain."

AJM Nasir Uddin, general secretary of City Awami League and former mayor of CCC, South District Awami League General Secretary Mofizur Rahman and several leaders and activists of Metropolitan Awami League were present at the time.
