For the first time in Bangladesh, ConfigRobt – robotics and AI company – has brought different robot kits for children with an aim to take STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) education to the next level.

Most of these robot kits can be programmed with its free Scratch/Python-based app and well-designed curriculums that help kids to learn basic graphic programming and programming languages.

It has a complete product line that can serve different needs from physical programming (screen-free) robots to DIY metal block robots. This company is led by Rudmeela Nawsheen, a Bangladeshi entrepreneur based in Silicon Valley, US.

The Q-scout coding robot kit
Regular price:
Tk9,000

The Q-scout coding robot kit is suitable for children of ages six and above. Its regular price is Tk9,000 and at discount it is available at Tk7,500.

In the box, there are small parts that need to be assembled with the help of the accompanying leaflet. It is compatible with LEGO's mechanical building block sets which allow children to easily design and create their own 'Qoopers'. It enhances children's logical thinking skills and manipulating abilities. 

The robot can be programmed with a drag-and-drop graphical programming environment that is a combination of Arduino and a Scratch Jr and 3.0. It is a great platform for kids to get hands-on experience with programming, electronics assembly and robotics.

Once it is assembled and turned on, there are multiple modes to play with like musical play, obstacle avoidance and line-tracking. These modes can be selected and controlled remotely with smart devices.

Interestingly, it has expansion packages that can transform the Q-scout into over 10 robots with different structures. For more accessories, you can contact its official Facebook page titled ConfigRbot and choose products from there.

Qobo
Price:
Tk10,000

Qobo is actually an Intelligent Programmable Snail (STEAM) which is suitable for children between three to eight years old. It can be purchased from ConfigRbot's official Facebook page for Tk10,000 and at discount the price will be Tk8,000. 

The Qobo box contains a snail robot, 30 programming cards, a map and a manual (Playbook) comprising instructions and simple lessons. Kids can learn maths, as its expanded option, using its programming cards. Qobo can move, turn, dance, change colour and make sounds for the children when prompted.

Designed for younger kids, the snail can be commanded with simple programming cards without the need for smartphones or tablets. However, for older kids, a programming option is available too.

Moreover, It has two play modes – a free mode and game mode. In the free mode, Qobo scans the programming cards and then it moves, makes sounds or changes its colour accordingly. In the game mode, on the other hand, the users can arrange the cards on the map in a correct sequence to solve quests in the Playbook.

Q-Elephant Robot Kit

The Q-Elephant, available at ConfigRbot Facebook page, comes with 267 pieces of metal parts and electronic modules. Using these parts, children aged ten and above can build a majestic elephant or a mechanical unicorn with flapping wings. After discount, its price is Tk9,000.

The colourful development environment that is used to program the robot helps kids focus on problem-solving and grasp the basics of coding. Moreover, since the app supports drag-and-drop coding, the kids will find it interesting to play with.

Additionally, the power of motors has been doubled with the help of the transmission mechanism which helps create vivid movements that bring these robotic creatures to life. The robot can be controlled by smartphones, tablets or any other compatible smart devices.

Qoopers Programmable Building Robot Kit
Price:
Tk15,000

Qoopers is meant for kids aged ten and above. Though its market price is Tk15,000, at discount it will cost Tk13,000.

This individual kit comes with 174 pieces that can be assembled into 15 different robots such as - the Captain, the Scorpion, the Voyager, the Guardian, the Dozer and the Cavalier. Assembling the Qooper is easy and fun for both children and adults. Users can complete it assembling in less than 30 minutes with the help of the 3D instruction manual.

Additionally, it can be programmed with smartphones, tablets or any other compatible devices. The robot supports both basic visual programming and high-level programming languages like Scratch and Python respectively which makes it the perfect study companion for children who are interested in programming.

Moreover, it is compatible with LEGO's mechanical building block sets. Children can play with the robot's light effects, play the basic musical notes or play songs from their music library.  Furthermore, through its LED Matrix, the Qooper can smile, frown, wink or display any emoji the kids wish.

Q-dino
Price:
Tk13,000

Q-dino is a STEAM educational robot that is suitable for kids aged ten years and above. This Q-dino is available for Tk13,000 and at discount it can be purchased for Tk11,000.

It has 209 parts and it can be easily transformed into mechanical dinosaur or crocodile. This is rich in interaction with discoloured eyes that can express emotions. Using coding, the Q-Dino's eye display or light effects can be controlled.

It has three levels of programming (primary, mid and high) so it is pretty easy for kids to use. It improves kids' manipulative abilities, logical thinking and teamwork skills. Additionally, the Q-dino is equipped with a powerful motor and shiny aluminium alloy coating. Like the rest of the robots, it can be controlled remotely using any compatible smart device.

Interestingly, this intelligent robot can easily detect and avoid any objects in front of it. So, even if you set it free, it will not crash or damage any furniture. Q-Dino can be easily ordered from ConfigRbot's official Facebook page.
