26th Dhaka International Trade Fair postponed

The 26th edition of Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) has been postponed, in an effort to ward off the dreaded blow of Covid-19 from mass-gathering.

The decision was taken after the organising authority failed to get Prime Minister's Office's nod over the issue, Prothom Alo reports quoting sources at the commerce ministry.

This year, arrangements were being made to hold the DITF at the newly built Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal from 17 March.

The organising authority, Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) sought the high up's nod over holding the fair.

But they received no positive response from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), said commerce ministry sources.
