BGB seizes drugs worth Tk737.93 cr in 2020

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized various illegal drugs and smuggled products worth Tk737.93 crore by conducting drives in the bordering areas of the country and other places from January to December of 2020.

Shariful Islam, public relations officer of BGB, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard today. 

Earlier in December alone, BGB seized illegal drugs worth Tk88.24 crore and legal action was taken against 283 smugglers and 173 Bangladeshis and eight Indians for illegally crossing the border for their involvement in various types of drug trafficking and smuggling.
