JS to go into 5th session Nov 7

The fifth session of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) will begin at 4.15pm on November 7.

President M Abdul Hamid summoned the session exercising the power bestowed upon him as per Clause (1) of Article 72 of the constitution, said a press release here today.

Before the beginning of the 5th session, the advisory committee of parliament will hold a meeting with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

Earlier, the fourth session of the 11th Parliament was prorogued on September 12 after four working days, which witnessed the passing of one bill out of five placed in the House.

The last session began on September 8, which got 158 notices under Section 71 of the Rules of Procedure. Of those, 3 notices were accepted and were discussed in the House.

Besides, 30 notices were discussed for two minutes each under Section 71 (A)of the Rules of Procedure.

A total of 70 questions were received for the Prime Minister, of which she responded to 18 questions along with supplementary ones.

The last session received a total of 1,553 questions for different ministers, state ministers and deputy ministers, and they replied to 452 questions, including supplementary ones.
