11 districts get new DCs

The government has appointed new deputy commissioners (DCs) to 11 districts of the country, with two reshuffles and nine fresh appointments.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification in this regard on Thursday, saying the appointments were made in public interest.  

In the reshuffles, Bagerhat DC Md Mamunur Rashid was transferred to Cox's Bazar with the same post while Barguna DC Mustain Billah to Narayanganj.

Aside from these, Director of Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Md Mominur Rahman was made DC of Chattogram while Private Secretary of Liberation War Affairs Ministry Habibur Rahman was appointed as DC of Barguna, Deputy Secretary to Public Security Division Md Habibur Rahman as DC of Narail, Deputy Secretary to Local Government Division ANM Faizul Haque as DC of Bagerhat, Deputy Secretary to Road Transport and Highways Division Anjana Khan Mazlish as DC of Chandpur, Deputy Secretary to Medical Education and Family Welfare Division Md Anwar Hossain Akand as Laxmipur DC, Director of PMO Jashim Uddin Haidar as Barishal DC, Secretary to Chattogram Development Authority Yasmin Parvin Tibriji as Bandarban DC, and Deputy Secretary to Cabinet Division Jahangir Hossain as Sunamganj DC.

The appointments will come into effect immediately, added the notification.
