Sculpture vandalism: Statements of 2 madrasa teachers recorded
A Kushtia court has recorded the statements of two Madrasa teachers accused in the case filed over vandalizing a sculpture of Bangabandhu in the district town.
Delwar Hossain, the senior judicial magistrate of Kushtia, recorded the statements of Md Alamin and Md Eusuf Ali on on Saturday afternoon under section-164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), reports Prothom Alo.
The duo are teachers of Ibne Masud Madrasa of the area.

After four days of interrogation in police custody, Investigation Officer Nishi Kanta Sarkar produced them before the court at noon.
The court sent them to the prison around 5pm, after recording their statements.
Two other accused – Abu Bakar alias Mithun and Sabuj Islam alias Nahid, students of the Madrasa - are likely to give statement on Sunday.
According to the statements, Abu Bakar and Sabuj reported the two teachers on 5 December that they had vandalized the sculpture of Bangabandhu on the previous night.
Sensing the severity of the issue, the teachers advised them to escape from the madrasa, the report said quoting a police official involved in the case.
An under-construction sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was vandalized in Kushtia on 4 December.
Kushtia Municipality Secretary Kamal Uddin filed a case under the Special Powers Act with Kushtia Model Police Station the following day.
