What started off in 2009 as a Facebook campaign to raise awareness and money for cancer research and charities - No Shave November - has managed to spread all across the world over the past decade.

Men, all around the world, follow the trend of not shaving or getting a haircut for the entire month of November. A lot of money can be saved if one does not shave or get a haircut for a month. And the purpose of this campaign is to raise  awareness on men's health issues and donate the money saved for cancer research and prevention.

If you are also a part of this worldwide move, you are just in luck because today, I will be talking about what methods to follow in order to maintain your beard.

If you are growing a beard, you know how hard it can be to maintain one. I have been growing mine for six years now, and maintaining it during the initial days was quite toilsome. However, once there is a particular flow, maintaining a beard becomes very easy.

So, without further ado, I'll walk you through the process I usually follow to maintain my beard.

For me, maintaining my beard starts right after I wake up as it feels like the beard gets a bit messy and tangled from the night before. So, the first thing I do is apply water and dry it right after.

I use a wooden comb and apply two drops of beard oil. Make sure you wash your beard with a natural shampoo while taking a shower and do not use conditioners. It is about the hair, yet about the skin underneath as well.

I also try to keep my beard hydrated.

This might be confusing at first: how does one keep a beard hydrated?

Just dry your beard with a towel when you are done taking a  shower and use a good quality beard oil. Make sure you massage the oil into the base of your beard.

After I am done with these steps, I make sure that I am drinking plenty of water. This point is a must, do drink at least 12 glasses of water every day. It will help your beard grow more thick and healthy as the follicles crave for water.

This step is especially helpful for men who suffer with thin and patchy beards.

A suggestion for people with patchy beard would be - get enough sunlight as vitamin D as it can be a good source of nutrition for your beard follicles.

You cannot build a house without blocks and the equivalent applies to facial hair.

Your facial hair is produced using protein and fat but on the other hand, it is intensely dependent on Vitamins B5, B3, and B9.

That implies lean meats, nuts, egg yolks, milk, and a lot of verdant greens. In case you are genuinely dedicated, you can likewise balance your eating routine with such an enhancement.

Before leaving my home for work, I always make sure I am combing my beard with a quality wooden boar bristles beard comb.

Mark my words, plastic combs are just damaging the smoothness of your beard, so I highly recommend you using a wooden comb with boar bristles, preferably combs that are made of oak or pine wood.

Grooming plays an important role when it comes to beard.

I do get a trim every two weeks as there are split ends in your beards which you must trim. The one situation where you can and should utilise a trimmer is around your facial hair neckline. I propose tending to this fortnightly also.

To do this, take two fingers and put them on your Adam's apple. The top finger is the place you should tend  your whiskers to. Try not to trim too high. In the event that you do this, it will make your neck area look bare  and your whiskers abnormal.

Exercise improves blood stream, which assists with invigorating hair follicle development.

Activities like weightlifting  may likewise briefly help testosterone. Take a stab at different exercises  around the hour of day you do them. Testosterone levels normally vacillate in youngsters during the day.
