Mohammad Ashraful has been hyped wherever he played cricket since his 5-year ban ended a few years back. He will be playing for Minister Group Rajshahi in the upcoming Bangabandhu T20 Cup starting from November 24.
Expectations are high on him. It is believed by most of the cricket fans that he will surely make his comeback to the national side soon. Ashraful could use this T20 tournament as the best platform to show his authority and prove his ability for returning to the national side.
Bangladesh will host Windies in January. And this tournament could be the best stage for Ashraful. But he is not currently thinking about the national team.
"I am not really thinking about the national team right now," Ashraful said during the press meet after Minister Group Rajshahi's jersey unveiling program on Thursday.
Ashraful also said all his focus is on the upcoming T20 tournament right now and he is really excited about that. He has worked hard in the past couple of months and hoping for the best possible result of his hard work.
"I've been training for the past couple of months so that I can be ready whenever I'm asked to play. I've also been concerned about my fitness and worked hard during the lockdown," a confident Ashraful told the media.
Ashraful admitted his ultimate goal is now to play for the national team in the future, but he is more concerned about the upcoming tournament which is part of the process to get into the national side.
