Interest rates on long-term Treasury bonds are rising again due to increased government borrowing demand.
Interest rates on 15-year and 20-year treasury bonds have risen again due to the government's increased demand for bank loans. The government plans to borrow an additional Tk 21,000 crore beyond the scheduled amounts during October and November. Meanwhile, despite interest rate cuts, loan demand in the private sector has not increased due to sluggish credit growth.
