Water transport fares rise 7.54% amid fuel price hike, minimum fare Tk35

Water transport fares have increased by 7.54% following the recent rise in fuel prices.
The revised fares will apply to passenger launches and other water transport services, increasing travel costs for commuters and passengers, said Road Transport and Bridges Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam today (23 September).
The minimum fare has been set at Tk35, while fares have increased by 23 poisha per kilometre for the first 100km and 20 poisha per kilometre thereafter.
