11 senior officials, including SB and Tourist Police chiefs, transferred
Six Addl-IGs and five DIGs receive new postings.
The government has transferred 11 senior police officials, including the chiefs of the Special Branch (SB) and Tourist Police, in a reshuffle affecting several key units and ranges.
The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued two separate notifications today (17 September), transferring six additional inspectors general and five deputy inspectors general. The orders will take effect immediately.
According to the notifications, SB chief Additional IGP Sardar Nurul Amin has been transferred to Police Headquarters.

Md Kamrul Ahsan, a Police Headquarters DIG recently promoted to additional inspector general, has been posted to the SB and will serve as its new chief.
The SB is a key police unit responsible for internal security and intelligence operations.
Tourist Police Chief Additional IGP Md Mainul Hasan has been appointed principal of the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah, Rajshahi.
The academy's principal, Additional IGP GM Azizur Rahman, has in turn been posted as the new Tourist Police chief.
Md Sayedur Rahman, director of the Central Police Hospital in Rajarbagh, and Dhaka Range DIG Md Iqbal Hossain, both recently promoted to additional inspector general, have been transferred to Police Headquarters.
At the DIG level, Police Headquarters DIG Md Rezaul Karim has been posted as Khulna Range DIG, while Khulna Range DIG Md Mostafizur Rahman has been transferred to Dhaka Range in the same position.
The Dhaka Range oversees law and order across districts surrounding the capital, while the Khulna Range covers several districts in the southwest.
SB DIG Mir Ashraf Ali has been transferred to the Railway Police as DIG.
Anti-Terrorism Unit DIG Mohammad Muslim has been posted as director of the Central Police Hospital in Rajarbagh.
Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) DIG Siddiqui Tanzilur Rahman has been transferred to the SB in Dhaka as DIG.
The notifications, signed by Deputy Secretary Towsif Ahmed of the Police-1 branch on behalf of the president, said the transfers and postings were made in the public interest.
