BSCIC, Rabindra University launch entrepreneurship training for students
BSCIC Training Institute (BTI) and Rabindra University, Bangladesh, have launched a five-day entrepreneurship development programme to help students build business skills and create employment opportunities.
The programme was inaugurated on Saturday (12 September). According to a press release, it will run until 16 September and cover business planning, small- and medium-enterprise management, marketing strategies, financial management, and leadership development.
Rabindra University Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Abdus Sobhan attended the inaugural ceremony as chief guest, while Treasurer Professor Dr Md Jahangir Hossain was the special guest.

BTI Principal and Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) General Manager (Planning and Research) Dr Md Farhad Ahmed chaired the event.
Speakers said entrepreneurship development is essential to sustainable development, job creation, and economic growth in the current global economic context.
They stressed that developing an entrepreneurial mindset, innovative thinking, and business skills among university students could help build a capable and self-reliant younger generation. They added that BSCIC has long been implementing entrepreneurship development programmes across the country to support these objectives.
A key aim of the training is to encourage students to consider creating jobs alongside seeking employment. Participants will receive practical and technical training on various aspects of becoming successful entrepreneurs.
BTI Associate Faculty Member Md Tanzim Hossain is serving as course director. Assistant Faculty Members Miftahul Jannat Ripa and Md Zubayer Islam are coordinating the programme.
Other invited attendees from Rabindra University included Sociology Department Chairman and Assistant Professor Jannatul Mawa Moon; Bangla Department Chairman and Assistant Professor Md Jabed Iqbal; Management Department Acting Chairman and Assistant Professor Prashanta Kumar Poddar; Management Department Assistant Professor (CSE) Md Tariqul Islam; Music Department Lecturer Babul Hossain; and Economics Department Lecturer Ekramul Hasan.
The joint initiative aims to promote an entrepreneurial culture among university students and expand self-employment opportunities.
