State restructuring plans being refined, improved: PM

The government is further detailing and improving the plans outlined by the BNP before the election for restructuring the state, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman told parliament today (9 September).

"Developing and implementing detailed plans across sectors, including education, industry and healthcare, requires some time," the prime minister made the remarks in response to a supplementary question from Madaripur-1 MP Syed Uddin Ahmad Hanzala during the parliament session.

"The BNP had outlined its plans for rebuilding the country and restructuring the state in its election manifesto. After forming the government and getting the opportunity to run the state, we have gained access to more information. This has given us the opportunity to implement the plans in greater detail and improve them further," he said.

The prime minister also said it takes some time to formulate such detailed plans.

"We had already adopted the plans. Now we are making them more detailed and improving them further. Naturally, when we begin implementing the work, people across the country and at all levels will gradually come to know about all the details," he added.
